On the face of it, Glassheads are a pop rock band drawing from alternative rock bands, with New Romanticism lyrics and experimental guitar textures. They have combined a wide range of musical knowledge with their everyday ordinariness, and created music which challenges issues faced in the transition between cosseted early adulthood and freedom, yet they present it in a new and interesting light.
Glassheads invite the audience in to their world with an introspective presentation, engulfing the audience in spiralling textures rooted in stoic rhythmical backdrops. Their lyrics revolve around fictional narratives and offer listeners an escape from everyday life, within familiar song structures.
The band formed in late 2018, and have already started to make a substantial footprint in the North of England. Having supported the likes of Neon Waltz, The Molochs, Faux Pas and Arcade Hearts, Glassheads have begun their journey to becoming one of the most sort after bands in the Leeds area. Renowned for their personable interaction with their fans and indifference for the pedestal that many bands stride for, creating a unique identity within the Leeds music scene.
Glassheads are heading into the studio this autumn to record their next single “White Flag” at The Nave Studio. Taking inspiration from bands such as Biffy Clyro, Wolf Alice and The Hunna, “White Flag” aims to strike the listener straight in the heart with its matter-of fact lyrics, and hard hitting textures. “White Flag” is sure to make a striking impression on their audience. Keep your eyes and ears pealed for what is going to be an epic new direction for the band.
